My mission is aligned with the National Guild of Hypnotists: to “help ordinary, everyday people with ordinary, everyday problems using individual hypnotic techniques.”

Are you considering whether to try hypnosis?

All too often, it isn’t our first or even second choice when trying to solve a problem or achieve a goal.  It ends up being something people try when they’ve tried many other things and aren’t sure which way to go next.

I get that, but it’s a shame, because hypnosis can help us get to the source of the internal obstacles that keep us from realizing our dreams, then help us dissolve or work around those obstacles.  It is a powerful tool, indeed.

At its core, despite the fact that there are dozens of ways to conduct a hypnosis session, hypnosis is about creating a heightened and focused state of suggestibility that helps you either change something about yourself or learn something about yourself.  That is it.

It’s pretty simple. It’s safe. It feels good. And it works.

So, what can hypnosis do for you?

No matter who you are or how stuck you may feel, hypnosis can help you plumb the depths of your subconscious to make changes in your life. Really!  If you have the intellectual capacity to read and understand this page, you’ve got the ability to participate in hypnosis. (Young children and those with developmental disabilities are not good candidates for hypnosis.)

Depending upon your goals, hypnosis may help you change a bad habit and start or stop doing something. You may gain insight and increased self-awareness. You almost always will feel calmer and less stressed. Your first word after emerging from a hypnosis session is likely to be, “Wow!” because it’s just that powerful.

Find out what lies below the surface.

Just like an iceberg only has its upper tip above the surface of the ocean, our conscious mind is only the tip of our internal iceberg. Much of what drives us and our behaviors lies below the surface in our subconscious minds. Hypnosis is a way of deeply focusing and going within so that we can tap into the riches below the surface and remove misconceptions or limiting beliefs.

It’s safe.  People actually go in and out of light hypnotic trances all the time. I think everyone who drives knows about highway hypnosis—those times when we lose track of how far we’ve driven on the highway because we were in a state of auto pilot.  Hypnosis with a practitioner is simply a deeper version of that.  You don’t go to sleep during hypnosis, you don’t lose self-control during hypnosis, and you will almost always remember what happens during your session.

It’s pretty speedy.  Hypnosis sessions generally run about an hour and a half, although I ask people to keep a full two hours free in case we need to run over a little bit. I schedule five or six sessions for most people, spread out 7-10 days in between each session.  My office is quiet, clean, and has air purifiers operating 24-hours a day to make it as safe as possible.  I am also scheduling online sessions.

DISCLAIMERS:

No hypnotist can make you do anything you don’t want to do. You are always in charge of yourself.  Even participants in Las Vegas stage hypnosis performances are volunteers who are willing to do what the hypnotist has suggested.

Common Questions

What if I cannot be hypnotized? I am not sure I can be.

It was once believed that a significant proportion of the population were not hypnotizable. Now, though, it is known that almost anyone of normal intelligence and functioning can participate in hypnosis if they wish to do so.  During our first session together, we will talk about your concerns and find ways to accommodate your needs so that hypnosis is a comfortable experience.

How do I know which is the best type of hypnosis for me?

If you ask a dozen hypnotists about the best type of hypnosis for a particular scenario, you’re likely to get a dozen different answers. Interestingly, an article in the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis from 2017 explored this issue and came us with a surprising answer. The very best hypnosis outcomes result from a positive relationship with your hypnotist. It is possible to have imperfect technique in a hypnosis session, but the positive regard and trust in the hypnotist is highly likely to result in good outcomes.

That said, my preference is 5-PATH hypnosis. 5-Path stands for Five Phase Advanced Transformational Hypnosis. 5-PATH uses powerful techniques that work with feelings and emotions surrounding your desired outcome. The system allows a person to “unplant the seed” of behaviors and feelings, as well as recognize and correct any erroneous beliefs and feelings that underlie what you hope to change.

How much does it cost?

Each approximately 90-minute session costs $275. My goal is to help you reach a solution, not just put a band-aid on things. I don’t want you to have to come back time and time again for the same problems.  This means that I do not normally offer one- or two-session programs. I am aligned with the 5-PATH method of hypnosis, which seeks deep resolution through five phases of hypnotic transformation. We go until we’re finished. For most, that means around five sessions. For some, it may mean just four sessions. For others, it could be as many as 10 or 12. This should give you a sense of the range, but it’s hard to give you a specific answer without actually meeting and talking.
